MakeFileWork

PDF problem solving

PDF tools organized by the problem you need to solve

Use the symptom or required result instead of guessing which generic converter you need. MakeFileWork separates damaged-PDF recovery, upload-size problems, OCR, conversion and page operations so each workflow can verify the part it actually changes.

When a portal says your PDF is invalid

Do not assume the document only needs compression. A rejection can come from structure, encryption, unsupported content, size limits or compatibility checks. Start with PDF repair and diagnosis when the file appears damaged, or upload requirement fixing when the portal states a measurable requirement such as file size or accepted format.

When the PDF is too large

Use the general compressor when the target is flexible, or the exact 1 MB workflow when a portal imposes that limit. The useful result is not merely a smaller file; the output must also remain a readable PDF and satisfy the requested threshold.

When the PDF is a scan

A scanned PDF can look normal while containing no searchable text. OCR is the correct workflow when the goal is selectable or searchable text, while text extraction is appropriate when the PDF already contains text objects.
